Beginning in 2027, there will be no more pay-per-view UFC events for Canadians to purchase.

The UFC has announced that its partnership with Paramount+ will be expanding into Canada. The new six-year deal means that all numbered-event main cards will be available exclusively to Paramount+ streaming subscribers throughout the country.

ā€œBeginning in 2027, Paramount+ subscribers in Canada will get every UFC numbered event main card live, at no additional cost,ā€ said UFC President and CEO Dana White.

ā€œParamount has been an incredible partner that understands the power of UFC, and together we’re going to make it easier than ever for fans in Canada to watch the biggest fights in the sport. I love Canada, and I’m very excited for the fans to be able to enjoy the Paramount experience.ā€

This could cut the costs of watching UFC events tremendously. All pay-per-view cards in Canada cost $69.99. This new deal will include bouts on all Paramount pricing options. The lowest price point for a subscription costs $7.99 per month.

Sportsnet, as well as TVA in Quebec, will continue to remain broadcast-rights holders in Canada on both preliminary fights on numbered cards as well as the 30 UFC Fight Night cards annually.

How exactly this will all unfold remains to be seen. In a press release, the UFC said that details on the first events to stream live on Paramount in Canada will be announced later in the year.

As per the UFC, its debut on Paramount+ earlier this year marked the service’s biggest exclusive live event in history. More than 10 million households have watched more than 100 million hours of UFC programming through Paramount+. It’s said to have increased viewership more than 15X of the average pay-per-view event over the last two years.

So, for Canadians who do their best to tune into each and every UFC bout, be prepared: starting in 2027, you will need a Paramount+ subscription to continue watching.
