Go out and cheer for the UBC Thunderbots as they compete in the RoboCup SSL North American Open – the first ever university-level RoboCup competition in Canada – against the best teams in the world in artificial intelligence and robotic soccer from June 9 to June 15 at the Engineering Design Center.
Check out their autonomous soccer-playing robots, learn about the technology, and meet the people behind these goal-scoring robots. You may even get a chance to take control of a robot and drive it using an Xbox controller.
The round robin takes place on Sunday, June 10, with public demonstrations on Monday, and finals on Tuesday. All events will be held at the Engineering Design Center (EDC) on UBC campus (2345 East Mall). There will also be networking events, a guest speaker and panel on artificial intelligence, and more!
