UBC Grad Arrested For Fastest Lap Around Manhattan

A UBC graduate has reportedly been arrested in New York City (NYC) after he allegedly posted a video of himself on YouTube speeding around Manhattan in just 24 minutes. The fastest lap around Manhattan.

30 year old Adam Tang, former UBC graduate, moved to New York City  two years ago. According to the NYPD he has been charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment and four other traffic-related offences.

Police  seized his B.C.-licensed 2006 BMW Z4.

The video description states:

During the summer of 2013, a record was set for the fastest loop around Manhattan starting from 116th St. on the FDR heading downtown, up the Henry Hudson Highway, and back down to 116th St. in just 24 minutes.

Previous records were set by CBC with 26 minutes in 2010 and before that Alex Roy with 27 minutes back in 2001.

The video has earned more than 700,000 views as of Monday morning.
