10 movies and TV shows filming in Vancouver this June

Majestic mountains, greenery and an ocean view – Vancouverites take a certain pride in seeing their hometown on the big screen.

Here are 10 TV shows and movies filming in and around Vancouver this June.

Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 – also known by its working title of ‘Love Machine’ – began filming in Vancouver this May and will continue until October.

That’s right ladies, Ryan Reynolds is in town. The comedy action movie stars Reynolds who will return to the big screen, and his hometown, in his tight red spandex as main character Wade Wilson in this sequel.

Game Over, Man!

Game Over, Man! stars quirky and hilarious actor Adam DeVine and will be filming in town until early June.

Seth Rogen’s production company Point Grey will produce the movie, and at the moment the plot is being kept very hush hush. DeVine’s Workaholics co-stars Anders Holm, who wrote the script, and Blake Anderson join him on set.

Overboard

Overboard is a remake of the 1987 movie of the same name starring bubbly blonde Anna Faris alongside Eugenio Debrez.

The movie follows a rich and spoiled yacht owner who is thrown overboard after a distraught employee seeks revenge. The feature film starts production May 23 until July 14 in North Vancouver.

The Predator

Starring Olivia Munn, The Predator is a sequel to the 1987 sci-fi Arnie-starring action movie. Directed by Shane Black, its been in production since February and is set to wrap up filming in Vancouver this June. Rumour has it rapper 50 Cent will also be involved with the movie, along with local child actor Jacob Tremblay.

Hit the Road – Season 1

Hit the Road is a new comedy series filming in town, starring the hilarious Jason Alexander. The new TV series will focus on a travelling family band called ‘The Swallows’ which is led by Alexander. The family sets out on an adventure of a lifetime in their tour bus, with hopes of finding fame and fortune.

Altered Carbon – Season 1

Almost 500 years into the future, Altered Carbon is a TV series set in advanced digital times where humans are able to survive death by transferring their memories and consciousness into new bodies. The new series stars Canadian actress Kristin Lehman and Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman.

Beyond – Season 2

Beyond is a TV series about a man who awakes from a coma with supernatural powers, and now must adjust to a new world while figuring out what has happened while he was unconscious for the past 12 years.

The show was renewed for a second series in January and Season 2 will be filming in Vancouver from April 24 to August 16.

Lost in Space – Season 1

This new series will be filming in town until June 26 and is a remake of the 1960s sci-fi show of the same name, which featured the Robinson family trying to survive in space when their ship navigates off course. The remake will be much of the same, but with a modern twist.

Molly Parker, who is better known as ruthless Jackie Sharp on House of Cards, stars in the remake along with Toby Stephens.

Chesapeake Shores – Season 2


Chesapeake Shores will be returning to BC to film its second season this month. The series focuses on single mother Abby O’Brien, played by BC born actress Meghan Ory, who returns to her hometown from the big apple, New York. Joining Ory back on screen for season two is Jesse Metcalfe.

Zoo – Season 3

Based on the 2012 novel Zoo by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge, this series began in 2015 and is currently filming season three in Vancouver until June 20.

Zoo stars James Wolk, Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Nora Arnezeder and Billy Burke as a team of professionals investigating a rash of violent animal attacks on humans. When the attacks become more frequent and ferocious, this group must get to the bottom of the mystery.
