Tugboat capsizes in Vancouver Harbour, sinks to bottom of inlet

A tugboat capsized and sunk just east of Canada Place in Vancouver Harbour late Friday evening, a staff person at Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre Victoria has confirmed.

The incident occurred near Crab Park and Port Metro Vancouver’s Centerm Container Terminal. Two people were rescued by the Coast Guard without any injury.

At this time, it is not known which entity owned and operated the vessel and whether there was any fuel spillage into local waters.
