T&T Supermarket opens at Marine Gateway in South Vancouver

Dec 20 2017, 3:16 am

Last week, T&T Supermarket quietly opened its newest location at the $372-million mixed-use Marine Gateway development next to SkyTrain’s Marine Drive Station in South Vancouver.

The 40,000-square-foot store is the Richmond-based Asian grocery chain’s 10th location in the Metro Vancouver region and 25th location across Canada. The chain has two other locations nearby in Richmond, including the Yaohan Centre store and the recently opened Ora store near the Richmond Olympic Oval.

The Marine Gateway T&T is located in the outdoor promenade that runs through the centre of the Marine Gateway complex.

The promenade provides pedestrians with direct access to both the bus loop and Canada Line station as well as the businesses and services found in the building’s podium. This includes a 30,000-square-foot Winners, 15,000-square-foot Steve Nash Fitness World & Sports Club, 11-screen Cineplex Theatre over 220,000-square-feet of space, Shoppers Drug Mart, and a number of small businesses and restaurants. Dublin Crossing Irish Pub and Pink Elephant Thai will be complex’s flagship dining establishments.

PCI Developments’ Bonnie Cheng told Vancity Buzz both Winners and the Cineplex location, which fills in the market demand created by the now-closed Empire Theatre location at Oakridge Centre, are scheduled to open in early-2016.

Over the last several weeks, residential tenants began moving into the building’s 461 units, comprising of 415 market condos and 46 rental housing units. But office tenants, including anchor tenant Wesport, will not be moving into the 250,000-square-foot office building until next year.
