Iconic Japanese matcha cafe reveals it's opening a Burnaby location

We’ve known that Tsujiri is opening its first BC location in Richmond for a while now, but the iconic Japanese matcha cafe is already planning to open a second spot in Metro Vancouver.

The Kyoto-based international chain will be opening another outpost in Burnaby.

Tsujiri has been around since 1860, and the brand is widely recognized for using green tea leaves from Uji in Kyoto, and grinding them using a traditional method before making their famous array of teas, baked goods, and dessert.

The brand currently has locations all over Japan, the UK, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Indonesia to name a few.

Tsujiri Canada also has three stores in Ontario and one in Alberta.

Matcha lovers have been patiently waiting for the #1535 4777 Mcclelland Road spot to open in Richmond. The Tsujiri team told Daily Hive that things are moving along, but they are a bit behind schedule as it was originally supposed to open in Summer 2018.

The address of the Burnaby location for the legendary brand has not yet been released, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as it is.
