Trulioo, the leading provider of online identity verification for the international market whose clients include Kickstarter, Stripe, Square and PayPal, today announced that identity and fraud industry expert Jon Jones has been appointed as President.

Jones is an accomplished leader in the fraud, compliance and identity space having spent almost 20 years at Experian. He will focus on scale and revenue growth to meet the growing demand for Trulioo’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliant identity verification product, GlobalGateway, amid a rapidly emergent global customer base.

“Jon is a proven leader with a deep background and solid experience working in the identity space across key verticals, including financial services, banking, government, and payments,” said Stephen Ufford, CEO & Founder at Trulioo. “We are very excited to have him join our team in a leadership role, especially during a time when we are experiencing exponential sales growth and global market expansion.

“Jon’s vast experience in scaling and operating products with revenue in the tens of millions of dollars is critical and extremely valuable at this inflection point for Trulioo,” Ufford said.

Jones previously served as the General Manager for Experian’s North American Fraud and ID business, where he was responsible for developing and leading the strategic direction of the business, resulting in rapid growth via the expansion into new verticals and the continued development of innovative products and services.

“Today’s economy is built on trust and security, and Trulioo’s innovative technology creates both disruption and opportunity on a global level for progressive businesses that want to win customers’ trust while improving the user experience for expansion and top line growth,” said Jones. “The recent onslaught of data breaches, online fraud, and money laundering activities sheds light on how vulnerable we really are, making it a top priority for businesses to tighten security to protect consumer privacy and strengthen AML/KYC processes to fight against financial crime.”

Tackling fraud, money laundering, cybercrime, and financial crime continues to be a major concern for organizations of all sizes, across all regions and in every sector. These economic crimes threaten businesses processes, including customer acquisition, payments, distribution, growth and expansion, sourcing and supply chain.

“The product that the Trulioo team has developed is ideally positioned to address these issues and I’m looking forward to working with the exceptional team that has developed it,” said Jones.
