Moving sucks! TruckPlease makes it easy

Dec 19 2017, 7:53 pm

Are you moving soon? Forget about scouring Craigslist or calling up a bunch of moving companies just to get quotes. TruckPlease is a Vancouver-based startup that lets you post your moving job and get quotes from both companies and individuals with trucks in minutes.

Moving companies tend to quote people higher than a job should cost, mostly because people move so infrequently they’re not sure what a fair price is. TruckPlease displays quotes from movers publicly, which causes other movers to adjust their quotes to stay competitive. This ends up revealing the true price of a job and lets you get a fair deal without having to spend a second negotiating. As a result, users end up saving at least 25 per cent on their moves.

TruckPlease has the majority of moving companies in Vancouver on board but has also received a lot of pushback from sketchy moving companies who are losing their ability to price gouge customers because of their platform.

“Tough,” founders Sasan Aghdasi and Heidar Bernhardsson responded with. “The moving industry has been doing its own thing for so long now, it’s time to bring some regulation to it. Having said that, there are a lot of honest and amazing movers out there and our service just makes it easier for them to get work. A lot of our users are very happy with the level of service they receive from moving companies they’ve found through our site.”

TruckPlease services all of Vancouver including Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey and the Lower Mainland.

Post your moving job today, it’s free and you have no obligation to pick a mover.
