Moving companies tend to quote people higher than a job should cost, mostly because people move so infrequently they’re not sure what a fair price is. TruckPlease displays quotes from movers publicly, which causes other movers to adjust their quotes to stay competitive. This ends up revealing the true price of a job and lets you get a fair deal without having to spend a second negotiating. As a result, users end up saving at least 25 per cent on their moves.
TruckPlease has the majority of moving companies in Vancouver on board but has also received a lot of pushback from sketchy moving companies who are losing their ability to price gouge customers because of their platform.
