Trolley bus service in downtown Vancouver diverted due to power issue

Dec 21 2017, 9:03 am

There are major disruptions to trolley service in downtown Vancouver during the evening rush hour due to a power issue.

According to TransLink, a power outage on the system at the intersection of Granville Street and West Pender Street is causing the trolleys to become stuck. The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.

For the time being, most of the bus routes that use Granville Street are detouring on Seymour Street for northbound routes and Richards Street for southbound routes.

TransLink says it is investigating the issue and working on a fix to resume bus service on their regular routes down Granville Street.

The issue began just after 4 pm.

Expect delays as a result. It is not known when regular service will resume.
