
If you’re looking for work and are within reach of the Tri-Cities, all three municipalities are hiring for a variety of living wage jobs.
Some of the roles have a low barrier of entry, meaning that no degree or formal post-secondary education is required. Some jobs may also require certification in specific disciplines.
City of Coquitlam jobs
Coquitlam is offering a variety of jobs in various areas of expertise.
One of those jobs that could offer some excitement is the regular part-time position of parking patrol officer.
The union role pays up to $37.32 per hour. The minimum qualifications include a grade 12 education and experience in regulatory, investigational, and enforcement work. A Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required, and preference will be given to applicants who have completed the Bylaw 1 course at the Justice Institute of BC or equivalent coursework.
If you have any fitness-related certification, Coquitlam is hiring a casual gymnastics instructor for seniors. The gig requires certification through the National Coaching Certification Program and first aid certification. The role pays up to $38.40 per hour plus four per cent in lieu of benefits.
There’s another general fitness role that pays up to $51.10 per hour, which also requires first aid certification and BCRPA fitness certification. Prior experience is preferred.

City of Port Coquitlam jobs
The City of Port Coquitlam isn’t hiring for as many positions as Coquitlam, but there are still a few well-paying jobs to take note of if you’re job hunting.
There’s currently an open part-time position for a purchasing clerk, offering a starting wage of $32.59 per hour. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of purchasing rules and regulations, three years of experience and a class 5 licence.
If you’ve got a passion for fitness, Port Coquitlam is seeking a weight room attendant. The role requires two BCRPA certificates and knowledge of movement theory, body mechanics, and the prevention and management of injuries. It pays $24.05 per hour, plus 12 per cent in lieu of holiday pay and a living wage adjustment of $2.05.
City of Port Moody jobs
The City of Port Moody is also hiring for a variety of fitness and seasonal jobs.
One of those fitness jobs is for a casual spin instructor, which has a salary range of $27 per hour. It also requires BCRPA certification and cycling certification, as well as six months of relevant experience.
A low-barrier-to-entry job that Port Moody is hiring for is the auxiliary recreational clerk role. It pays up to $35.71 per hour and requires applicants to have knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher and Canva. Social media experience is also required.
