The Secret Life of Trees Walking Tour

What: A walking tour around Port Coquitlam’s beautiful downtown parks and gardens. Hosted by PoCo Heritage Trees and is part of the collaborative The Secret Life of Trees exhibit.

Port Moody Winter Farmers Market

What: Established in 2008, the Port Moody Winter Farmers Market began as a bi-weekly market in the lobby and courtyard of the Port Moody Rec Centre. Now a weekly market, shoppers can stop by every Sunday for local BC produce, artisan crafts, and delicious baked goods.

When: Every Sunday from November 4, 2018, to April 28, 2019

Port Moody Remembrance Day Ceremonies & Parade

What: Events start with a non-denominational service at Kyle Centre. Then the parade goes around the block to Port Moody Arts Centre for a two-minute silence, act of remembrance and laying of wreaths at Port Moody Arts Centre Monument. Ceremony finishes with a 21-Gun Cannon Salute at Seymour Artillery.

Port Coquitlam Remembrance Day

What: Port Coquitlam’s Remembrance Day begins with the Wilson Centre Service. Then veterans and members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #133 will lead a parade from the Wilson Centre along Wilson Avenue to Shaughnessy Street to the Cenotaph services at Veterans Park.

What: Looking for locally sourced, eco-friendly gifts this holiday season? Check out Place des Arts annual Christmas Boutique. The boutique features finely crafted ornaments and decorations as well as an abundance of artful gifts, all handmade by artisans in our community.

Photomotion

What: Each November the Pacific Digital Photography Club produces “ Photomotion”, a compendium of members’ digital slide/sound shows. The shows include a selection of juried audio-visual presentations approximately 3 to 4 minutes in duration. Contents of the shows are up to the individual photographers but are juried for quality by a panel of CAPA judges.

Old Fashioned Christmas Bazaar

19th Annual Hyde Creek Salmon Festival

What: Celebrate and witness the return of thousands of salmon back to their birthplace to lay and fertilize their eggs. This free family event provides visitors of all ages the opportunity to observe salmon up close and learn about their life cycle through educational displays, salmon dissections and in-stream demonstrations. There will also be children activities, 50/50 draw and silent auction, tours, food trucks and more.

What: Vendors will be offering a wide variety of local, handmade products. From prepared foods to artisan crafts there is sure to be a treasure found for everyone. Throughout the weekend there will be food trucks, kids crafts and holiday characters to get everyone in the festive spirit.

What: Lights at Lafarge Lake is one of the largest free light displays in Metro Vancouver, and features more than 100,000 twinkling lights. The outdoor display wraps its way entirely around the lake, leading visitors on a 1.2-km loop through 10 themed zones. The display is located just steps from SkyTrain’s Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station, and the lights will remain on from dusk each night until 11 pm.
