Musical Mornings: The Red Violin

What: Acclaimed pianists Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann hosts Musical Mornings at Evergreen Cultural Centre. This month’s show is The Red Violin with violinist Jasper Wood.

Love Bugs – A Valentine’s Day Event

What: Place Maillardville Community Centre host an afternoon of Valentine’s Day-themed activities including crafts, games, card-making and more. Ideal for kids nine and under, and this is a parent participation program.

Vancouver Jewish Book Festival – A Sense of Place

What: As part of the Vancouver Jewish Book Festival, writer, critic and teacher Norman Ravvin reads from his latest book, The Girl Who Stole Everything, at the Burquest Jewish Community Centre.

Forever Plaid

What: First Impressions Theatre presents Forever Plaid, the hit musical written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross. A quartet of male singers takes a detour to heaven on the way to their first big concert. They posthumously take the stage for one final gig in this comedic musical celebration of the 50s.

Black History Month Family Day

What: Mackin House celebrates African culture in Canada with a Family Day weekend event. Enjoy food, live performances, interactive drum circle, crafts, and a presentation by the African Descent Society of BC.

Westminster Savings Family Day

What: Westminster Savings Family Days invites visitors to tour the exhibition in the Art Gallery at Evergreen and participate in a variety of activities led by Art Gallery staff. On February 15, attendees can take part in Alter Ego Self-Portraits, and on March 21, they can experiment with Illuminated Sketchbooks. There will also be gallery tours at 2:30 pm (English) and 3:30 pm (Korean).

Family Day at PdA

What: Place des Arts’ hosts a Family Day weekend event featuring a variety of drop-in-style art activities for all ages. Heritage Week 2020 – Bringing the Past into the Future: The Saving of Melissa Park Lodge

What: Port Coquitlam’s Community Integration Services Society in collaboration with PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives and the City of PoCo hosts a tour of Melissa Park Lodge as part of Heritage Week 2020. Attendees will learn how the historic building was restored.
