Downtown Vancouver is getting a new cheesecake and organic coffee cafe
Now that many of us are working from home, instant coffee has become a familiar morning necessity. But some days, we just need a cuppa’ that’s brewed to perfection.
At Trees Cheesecake + Organic Coffee, every order is prepared with passion, and the cafe is hosting the grand opening of its new location on Monday, December 7, in the heart of the Davie Village at 1160 Davie Street.
In operation since 1996 and with six locations around the city, Trees has become beloved for its award-winning New York-style cheesecakes and carefully-roasted organic coffee. In addition to its new Davie Street cafe, the company plans to welcome two new locations in Strathcona and Surrey.
To celebrate its grand opening, the cafe is pledging coffee sale proceeds from December 7 through 14 to KhalsaAid in support of farmers protesting in India for anti-farmers bills. So, you can feel good not only because you’re buying organic, but because you’re supporting a greater cause.

Well, if you need another reason to order takeout from the new Trees location, make it the sweet and savoury muffins and scones, baked fresh daily. On any given morning, you’ll find at least four muffin varieties on offer. Blueberry lemon, pumpkin, cranberry pecan, and banana are our personal favourites.
Name a better combination than a scone with butter and jam — we’ll wait. The selection of delectable options at Trees is enough to make anyone swoon. Cheddar cheese, spinach feta, mixed berry, chocolate orange, raspberry white chocolate — the list goes on (and gets even better).

Not a fan of scones or muffins? Firstly, who are you? Secondly, it’s okay — there are many more treats on the menu to pair with your coffee. Think vegan power bars prepared from scratch in the Trees kitchen, crunchy biscotti, white chocolate macadamia cookies, melt-in-your-mouth blueberry lemon loaf, and almond marzipan croissants.
Cheesecake is one of life’s most precious treasures, and Trees make it to perfection. It’s their specialty! Pick one up by the slice to-go or purchase a whole New York, blueberry, key lime, mocha, maple, or walnut cheesecake, then relish each bite.

If the endless baked goods and cheesecake options aren’t enough, Trees also has a bunch of options for a hearty lunch. Opt for a super fresh sandwich (grilled or au natural) with the bread and fillings of your choice. If you’re choosing between bocconcini, tuna salad, ham and cheese, and veggie delight, you can do no wrong.
