Trapp + Holbrook brings modern living to historic New Westminster

The Salient Group is merging the old and the new with Trapp+Holbrook, waterfront homes in the heart of rejuvenated downtown New Westminster.

The Edwardian facades of the Trapp and Holbrook buildings will be reconstructed to face Columbia Street for another hundred years. The new Trapp+Holbrook will stand 20 storeys with panoramic views of the Fraser River. In this evolving neighbourhood, new homes will start at $219,900, with 100 homes priced under $299,900. Trapp+Holbrook’s 196 homes offer a range of sizes from 500 to 1,261 square feet, most of them with view balconies.

“New Westminster has charm and character and although it’s been overlooked for years, this neighbourhood is now hot again,” says Robert Fung, president of the Salient Group. “With Trapp+Holbrook, we’ve created modern urban homes while retaining the building’s much loved heritage architecture.”

Celebrated for its urban revitalization projects, Salient Group is equally committed to creating exceptional architecture and sustainable urban communities. Recently a Salient redevelopment was recognized with a Lieutenant Governor’s Medal in Architecture, and they have received many other sustainable architecture and buildings awards over the past decade. With inspired interior design by Cristina Oberti, architect James Hancock of IBI-HB Group designed the modern tower and integrated it with the historic building elements.

Located on Columbia Street — formerly known as the Golden Mile for its reputation as the shopping centre for the Lower Mainland  — and backing on to Front Street, Trapp+Holbrook is in the heart of New Westminster’s downtown, an area that is fast attracting hip new businesses as well as earning a reputation as a cultural centre.

A convenient transit hub, downtown New Westminster is located in the centre of Metro Vancouver, just blocks away from two SkyTrain stations and accessible to both the Millennium and Expo lines to downtown Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey. Trapp + Holbrook homeowners will also be steps away from shops and amenities including the River Market, Westminster Pier Park, and the new civic centre.

Completing in 2014, previews begin Saturday, April 28th, 2012.
