TransLink stations the next public washrooms could appear at

Metro Vancouver residents were buzzing with excitement after it was announced that the public washroom at Metrotown SkyTrain station was open for use.
That news was shared earlier this week.
Public washrooms were one of the most requested amenities in a 2022 survey conducted by TransLink. Digging into a recent TransLink Buzzer blog reveals some clues as to which TransLink stations might be next to have public washrooms open.

Before sharing where the new TransLink washrooms could be opening next, here are the washrooms that are currently available:
- Waterfront Station’s SeaBus Terminal
- The Lonsdale Exchange SeaBus Terminal
- Onboard each West Coast Express train
- And of course, the new Metrotown washroom
The next new washroom will be at a busy transit exchange in North Vancouver.
“TransLink is planning for future washrooms to be opened in phases, starting with Phibbs Exchange, where plumbing was included during recent upgrades. Phibbs Exchange is a busy transfer point for North Shore commuters and Capilano University students; it is also the terminus of the R2 RapidBus, and it is a future transfer point for the Metrotown-North Shore Bus Rapid Transit route,” the Buzzer blog states.
After that, TransLink plans to install washrooms at both Commercial-Broadway and Scott Road SkyTrain stations. TransLink is basing new locations on demand.
“Commercial–Broadway Station is the next busiest station on the system after Metrotown, and a washroom at this location would serve customers on both the Expo Line and Millennium Line. With two SkyTrain lines and the busiest bus in Metro Vancouver (the 99 B-Line), it is a major transfer point for customers,” TransLink says.
“Scott Road Station is also an ideal location for Surrey riders due to the connected bus loop featuring the R6 Scott Road RapidBus, and the Park and Ride. It is a common transfer point for our rapidly growing customer base in Surrey.”
Unfortunately, as shared on Reddit, it appears that the Metrotown SkyTrain Station washroom was temporarily put out of commission just two days after it opened.
The closure was due to a broken pipe. That pipe has been fixed and the washroom was reopened.
But hey, s**t happens.
