Bus wrapped in new Indigenous art unveiled by TransLink

To mark 2025 National Indigenous Peoples Day and National Indigenous History Month, TransLink is rolling out a tribute to Indigenous cultures and histories across Metro Vancouver — a public transit bus wrapped in artwork by Indigenous artist Rose Tashoots.

According to the public transit authority, the art-covered bus plays a part in celebrating the enduring contributions, resilience, and stories of Indigenous people, and is a symbol of reconciliation.

For the next eight weeks, this vehicle will be used on bus routes across the region.

On June 21, 2025 — National Indigenous Peoples Day — the bus will also provide free shuttle service to a community celebration at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Surrey.

Tashoots, a Tahltan and Tlingit artist from the Wolf Clan and a residential school Survivor, brings a deeply personal lens to her work. This marks her second collaboration with TransLink; she previously designed the public transit authority’s Orange Shirt Day t-shirt to honour survivors and the children lost to Canada’s residential school system.

TransLink says the initiative is part of its broader effort to engage with Indigenous communities and promote cultural understanding across the region’s transit network.
