Translink fares to increase effective January 1, 2013

Dec 19 2017, 6:36 am

Taking public transit just got a little more expensive in the Lower Mainland as Translink is set to hike fares on transit. Effective January 1, 2013, the price of a one zone ticket will increase 25 cents to $2.75; two zones up 25 cents to $4.00; and three zones up 50 cents to $5.50.

The increase will also affect Discount fares on weekends, along with daypasses, monthly Farecards and HandyDART tickets. However, the price of FareSaver tickets stays the same.

This is the first fare increase since 2008. With Translink losing money, this is one way to increase revenue.
