A number of TransLink bus workers in the Fraser Health (FH) region will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination starting today.
Fraser Health has confirmed with Daily Hive that they’ll be offering vaccinations to select Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) employees, the bus operations subsidiary of TransLink.
The decision comes after two COVID-19 outbreaks occurred at CMBC transit centres in Burnaby and Surrey.

“Fraser Health is taking an aggressive COVID-19 management and response approach to work settings, including locations where we are seeing clusters and outbreaks,” the health authority tells Daily Hive.
Eligible CMBC employees at the two transit centres will be able to receive immunization at clinics located in Surrey, Burnaby, and Coquitlam.
At this point in time, it’s unclear just how many transit workers are able to receive a vaccination.
Daily Hive has reached out to TransLink for additional comment.
