After two extremely disappointing losses, the BC Lions needed something to lighten the mood.
Well, how about hosting some of Canada’s comedy icons at home?
During the Lions home game against the Ottawa Redblacks on Friday night, Mike Smith (Bubbles) and Patrick Roach (Randy) were spotted taking in the action.

The actors are in town as part of the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival, which is taking place from Sept. 12-14 at Stanley Park. Actors Robb Wells (Rick) and John Paul Tremblay (Julian) appeared in the promotional material for the event alongside Smith and Roach. The Trailer Park Boys will headline the last day of the festival on Sept. 14.
Smith and Roach were sitting in the front row for part of the game, but they were later seen on television hanging out with Lions owner Amar Doman in the owner’s suite.

Perhaps Bubbles and Randy brought the good vibes into BC Place, as the Lions snapped their two-game slide with a 38-27 victory over the Redblacks. The final score was a bit flattering for the Redblacks, who were trailing 38-13 midway through the third quarter.

Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke threw for over 300 yards in the victory, the eighth time he’s accomplished that feat this season. He’s now ninth-all time among Lions quarterbacks in passing yards, leapfrogging both Casey Printers and Vernon Adams Jr. with his performance on Friday night.
BC is currently in a dogfight to make the playoffs. The win pushes them to 6-7 on the season, but they are still fourth in the Western Conference standings.
