Toronto Raptors are a fan of a ridiculous new logo that was made for them

The Toronto Raptors got a bit of a logo refresh this week.

Well, sort of.

In the depths of the NBA offseason, the Raptors were the latest team to get the logo redesign treatment from the popular social media account @nba_paint, which has gained popularity over the last five seasons for their work covering basketball in well, a unique fashion.

During much of the season, the account typically focuses on player-related art revolving around puns, such as a “Gravy Dick” on American Thanksgiving depicting Raptors youngster Gradey Dick.

But with less and less player-related news to discuss this summer, the talents of @nba_paint were taken to the logo redesign world, with the Raptors getting a bit of a touch-up.

The team really seemed to have fun with it, even choosing to make the logo their profile pic on X.

While the Raptors might never actually wear the logo on the court, it’s now officially part of their team heritage, even if it might end up being the smallest of footnotes in the long history of the franchise.

Who made the funny Raptors logo?

The creator of @nba_paint is choosing to remain anonymous.

But the work is likely to continue in the long term. If you’re curious about just how many drawings one artist might have in them, there’s seemingly an endless amount.

“I find it easy in the fact that there’s so much going on that it makes it easy to build content and it’s such a passionate community, specifically on [X], which makes it all fun to engage with people who are super passionate as well in being and talking in that specific space,” the @nba_paint creator said in a 2024 interview with ESPN.

And if you’re looking to support their work out in the wild, the @nba paint store offers up a whole host of options to rep the unique merchandise.
