The magic number is down to one as the Toronto Blue Jays head into the final day of the MLB regular season.
Tied with matching 93-68 records, the Blue Jays and New York Yankees each picked up victories on Saturday.

Toronto took care of business against the Tampa Bay Rays, as a bold pitching choice paid off with a 5-1 win at Rogers Centre. Meanwhile, the red-hot Yankees won their seventh straight game, a 6-1 triumph over the Baltimore Orioles.
That sets up a dramatic Sunday, with the AL East Division title on the line. If the Blue Jays win, or if the Yankees lose, Toronto will be crowned division champions for the first time since 2015.
While both teams have already secured playoff berths, first place in the AL East comes with a significant reward. Whichever team comes out on top will be the No. 1 seed in the American League, getting a bye to the ALDS and a chance to rest. The best-of-five ALDS doesn’t begin until Saturday.
The second-place team will be the No. 4 seed and has to play a best-of-three Wild Card series, likely against the Boston Red Sox, beginning on Tuesday.

This is just the sixth time in team history that the Blue Jays have won 93 games or more in a season.
They’re desperate for win #94 though.
Kevin Gausman will get the start in the regular season finale, as the Blue Jays turn to their ace for the pivotal game.
“This is the exact situation you want to be in,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters post-game. “Of course it comes down to [game number] 162 to get to where you want to get to. I think these guys will be ready for it tomorrow.”
