The Toronto Blue Jays will have a different look for Game 1 of the World Series than we have seen so far in the playoffs.
The Blue Jays released their 26-man roster on Friday morning, which included both Bo Bichette and Ty France. They have replaced Joey Loperfido and Yariel Rodriguez, who were both a part of the ALCS roster.
There was plenty of optimism that Bichette would join the roster, and Blue Jays fans got their wish. The 27-year-old hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury versus the New York Yankees in early September, but has been spotted running bases in the days leading up to the World Series.
#BlueJays fans, check out who was running the bases today at Rogers Centre.
Bo Bichette declared he'd be ready for the #WorldSeries.
This seems like a really positive sign! #WANTITALL

While it was becoming increasingly clear that Bichette would play in the World Series, many were wondering where we would see him suit up. On Friday afternoon, we finally got the answer.

Rather than playing his usual position of shortstop, Bichette will suit up at second base for the first time in his MLB career. It’s a less demanding position that should cause far less strain on his knee. He will also hit cleanup, while Alejandro Kirk will drop to fifth in the order.
Also getting the start for the Blue Jays is Davis Schneider, who has seen only limited action so far in the playoffs. He will hit second in the lineup and will play in left field.
Both Addison Barger and Nathan Lukes will be out of the starting lineup for Game 1, as will Isiah Kiner-Falefa. All three were included on the 26-man roster, however, and could see action later in the game, or perhaps later on in the series.
