With recording breaking temperatures and a wealth of sunny days, there’s no better time to hit the beach for a quick bite. Vancouver has no shortage of great spots, but what summer hang is most popular among residents?
A recent survey conducted by President’s Choice found that 38 per cent of Vancouverites said Kits Beach was their favourite spot for outdoor eating. Spanish Banks Beach followed close behind at 32 per cent, while Third Beach founding a fitting third place, at 18 per cent. Here’s the full ranking:

“In British Columbia, people’s love of the outdoors is evident by their active use of our amazing beaches, mountains, lakes and parks,” says Chef Trevor Bird, of Vancouver’s popular farm-to-table style restaurant Fable, located in Kitsilano.
Speaking of food, the PC survey also asked B.C. residents what foods they were looking forward to enjoying in the warm months. Their replies:
- Burgers 67%
- Fresh fruit 64%
- Ice cream 61%
- Veggie platters 60%
- Cheeses 50%
