These are the top baby names in BC for 2019

The BC Ministry of Health has released the top baby names of 2019, and alas, Agnes and Ethel failed to make the list once again.

The most popular name for babies born in BC this year is… Olivia! Will all the Olivias please stand up?

Right on Olivia’s heels are Oliver, Lucas, Liam, Ethan, Noah, William, Benjamin, Charlotte, Emma, and Leo.

The list is based on the Vital Statistics Agency’s preliminary statistics from January 1 to December 18, 2019. Between these dates, 40,978 babies were born in BC.
