Top 5 upcoming Vancouver networking events to attend

Dec 19 2017, 4:51 pm

The invites are coming in fast and furious – and it’s not even December. I am here to help you wade through the abyss of networking event invitations you receive and recommend the ones that are worth attending – this is Jen’s Top 5 upcoming Vancouver networking events to attend.

I attend a lot of events. Galas, panel discussions, speed networking, minglers – you name it, I am there. I know what some people think about “networking” and wrinkle their noses, but it doesn’t have to be that way. At the end of the day, the strength and quality of your network is important and the only way you can grow and nurture it, is by meeting people and developing genuine relationships.

Here are five upcoming events in Vancouver where you are sure to meet cool people and learn from some great business leaders along the way.

Top networking events to attend

1. Selling to the new consumer

November 20 (Women’s Executive Network)

I am a big fan of the WXN. They put on stellar events with the best female business leaders in our city. If you’re an early riser, join MEC Chief Marketing Officer, Anne Donohoe, Canucks Sports & Entertainment VP Brand, Ali Gardiner and TwentyTen Group Founder, Andrea Shaw at the Terminal City Club on November 20. Come find me, I’ll be there.

2. Y.E.S! Vancouver 7th Annual Signature Event

November 20 (YES! Vancouver)

Love YES! events – great young and diverse crowd of up and comers, awesome food, good vibe AND their events benefit Dress for Success. Win win all around.

3. Why Vancouver?

November 26 (Vancouver Enterprise Forum)

VEF events have a solid reputation in Vancouver. I am not in the tech industry but you don’t even have to be to attend and enjoy their events. Panelists at this event include Avigilon (one of B.C.’s fastest growing companies), SAP and Mozilla. Snap!

4. Creating the digitally engaged city

December 5 (Association of Integrated Marketers)

I have met the coolest people at AIM events. Marketers, PR peeps, communicators, bloggers and much more. Find out how technology is changing the way the City of Vancouver delivers services and engages citizens and businesses with Andrea Reimer at this luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel.

5. Lunch with an Icon – Keith Beedie

December 12 (Commercial Real Estate Development Association)

Keith Beedie is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Beedie Development Group and a business icon. On December 12 join NAIOP for an intimate conversation with Keith and his son Ryan Beedie, President of Beedie Development Group at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. Don’t miss this one (and come find me!).
