Red hot flames, BBQ smoke lingering around you, the smell of sugar, yup it sounds like a night out at the International Summer Night Market.

The International Night Market is a great place to try out exciting new foods. From deep fried potatoes to deep fried, okay everything is pretty much deep fried. Not only do you have a lot to choose from, but you also see your food being freshly made right in front of you.

Here is a list of the top 5 things you need to try at the International Summer Night Market in Richmond:

1. TW Traditional Snacks 

These TW wheel cakes are one word, amazing. Not only do they taste like pancakes, but come with your choice of filling. Fillings include custard, Oreo, Nutella, red bean, and peanut butter. These wheel cakes are easy to eat while walking around the night market making your next cell phone case purchase.

2. Chef James Xin Jiang Man BBQ

Chef James’ BBQ is infused with delicious seasonings and is a great snack while walking around the night market. You can not go wrong with meat on a stick. You can choose from AAA steak beef, chicken, lamb, honey garlic prawn and other tasty options.

Prices: 3 for $7 and 5 for $11

3. The original Hurricane Potato Fries

You can not go to the night market and not have the famous Hurricane Potato Fries. This night market favourite is also available at the Richmond Night Market. There are a lot of other versions of Hurricane potato fries so make sure you get the originals. They use Yukon Gold potatoes and you get to choose two toppings or seasonings, hint they are all amazing. Not interested in potatoes? substitute it for fried zucchini instead.

4. BBQ Squid

Try something out of your comfort zone and get a little adventurous with deep fried BBQ squid. The night market is a perfect place to try deep fried tentacles, squid, or tofu.

What’s a night market without a little bubble tea? After eating pounds of deep fried, well, anything you will need something to wash it all down. Bubble tea is a must while venturing around the market.
