The PNE has started and the sun is starting to set earlier and earlier these days. Yes, summer is almost done, however there is plenty of great weather to look forward too the next few weeks (fingers crossed for another Indian summer in Vancouver this year) and that means you can still get you tan on.
If you’re on the hunt for a great place to get your tan (outside the usual spots along the seawall) on look no further than these 10 great spots in and around Metro Vancouver.
10 Tanning Spots in Vancouver
Barnet Marine Park
The large sandy beach at Barnet Marine Park is a popular spot for those who like to bask in the sun. What makes it even better is the spectacular views of Burrard Inlet.
Deer Lake Park
This is a fun place all year round, but it’s much better in the summer. You can find a great spot to tan or go to one of the many concerts that take place in the summer.
White Rock Beach
Alongside its lengthy boardwalk, comes 2.5 kilometres of sand by the Pacific Ocean to get some rays. Once you get a sufficient enough tan, make your way over to Washington Avenue Grill to cool off.
Kits Beach
A classic—see and be seen at this sandy beach. Try the grass if you’re looking for an alternative and make sure to stroll along the paths to take in volleyball, the views and more.
Cultus Lake Provincial Park
A definite favourite in the GRVD is Cultus Lake. If you make the trip for the tanning, stay for the watersides. Rumour has it that it’s always sunny in Cultus Lake.
Lighthouse Park Beach
While some hiking is involved to get here, you won’t regret it. Located in West Vancouver, whether you are tanning on the rocks or on the grass, this is definitely one of the best places in the region to escape and tan.
Centennial Beach
Located in Boundary Bay, Centennial Beach is raved about for its awesome sand, which goes hand in hand with tanning. It’s definitely worth the trip.
Crescent Beach
Crescent Beach in South Surrey is great, if you stay long enough, you’ll enjoy 1 of the greatest views of the sunset in YVR. Afterwards, make sure to get some gelato at Martino’s.
