Timmy's Christmas Telethon raises over $6.2 million for BC Lions Society's Easter Seals
This past Sunday, the Timmy’s Christmas Telethon presented by Shaw started the holiday season, raising over $6.25 million in support of the BC Lions Society’s Easter Seals programs and services.
The telethon, which took place from 4 to 10 p.m., aired live throughout the province on local Shaw TV channels as well as being streamed on timmys.org, and featured performances by The Matinee, John Welsh Band, Jacyln Guillou and Band, Gio Levy, Marika & Zoey, Lochdale Chorus, Fiddlin Frenzy and Vancouver Sweet Soul Gospel Choir.
The Society assists children with disabilities with all kinds of special needs and funds province-wide specialized services like the Society’s three Easter Seals Camps, the Easter Seals House in Vancouver and Patient Care Grants. It also provides college scholarships to support youth with disabilities in furthering their education.
