UBC ranks 31st in Times Higher Education world rankings

Dec 19 2017, 4:31 pm

Times Higher Education has released its most recent ranking of global universities, with the University of British Columbia now ranking 31st.

The updated ranking comes as a one place drop for UBC from another ranking performed earlier in the year. Times Higher Education bases its global universities list on four fundamentals of an institution: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

The Times’ list is among the three most reputable rankings of universities around the world – each with their own different set of standards for evaluation. In August, the Shanghai-based Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) listed UBC as the top 40th. This was shortly followed by the release of the QS World Rankings List naming UBC the world’s top 49th university.
