Thunderstorm warning issued for Metro Vancouver

May 4 2017, 2:30 pm

The sun may be shining now, but Vancouver’s weather could be set for a 180 later today.

In fact Environment Canada has issued a weather alert, warning of thunderstorms and heavy downpours across the region later today.

“A warm, humid southerly flow of air over the south coast today will combine with an approaching Pacific cold front to create favourable conditions for thunderstorm development over the Lower Mainland by this evening,” the warning states.

The thunderstorms are set to arrive in the area later this afternoon and continue into Thursday evening, bringing with them up to 25 mm of rain alongside the risk of some hail.
