Science World After Dark

  • What: If you’ve ever wanted to explore Science World with your friends and without the youngsters around, here’s your chance.
  • Where: TELUS World of Science – 1455 Quebec Street, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, April 17; 7 p.m.

Lord Huron with Leon Bridges at the Commodore

  • What: American indie folk band Lord Huron comes to Vancouver’s Commodore Theatre on April 17 with Leon Bridges.
  • Where: Commodore Ballroom – 888 Granville St., Vancouver

Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Playoffs Round 1 Game 2

  • What: Canucks face the Calgary Flames in game two of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, at home.
  • Where: Rogers Arena – 800 Griffiths Way, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, April 17; 7 p.m

FLAWLESS: A Beyonce Inspired Art Show

  • What: BEYHIVE! You ready?! Time to get drunk in love with your favourite Queen Bee beats. Over 60 participating artists and 80 + submissions of Beyonce inspired art with amazing performances from 10pm – late.
  • Where:  Studio East – 1480 Frances St., Vancouver
  • When:  Saturday, April 18 to May 9; Opening night, April 18; 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo

  • What: They’ll bring vendors (old and new), artists (including the 8 Bits of Destiny art show), retro gaming (including tournaments fresh and expected), video game trivia from West Coast Geeks versus Nerds, and performances from MissingNo and newcomers The Runaway Four and Opus Arise.
  • Where: The Columbia – 530 Columbia Street, New Westminster
  • When: Saturday, April 18; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Vaisakhi Parade Surrey 2015

  • What: The annual Vaisakhi Parade will once again host a lively and celebratory event to mark the New Year, pay tribute to the harvest and commemorate one of the most important days in the Sikh calendar: the creation of the Khalsa.
  • Where: Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar – 12885-85 Avenue, Surrey
  • When: Saturday, April 18; 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Camilo the Magician presents Misterio

  • What: After selling out four shows (two last weekend, two this weekend), Vancity Buzz has partnered with Camilo the Magician to add an extra show on Saturday at 2 p.m., exclusive for VcB readers!
  • Where:  The Revue Stage – 1601 Johnston Street, Vancouver (Granville Island)
  • When: Saturday, April 18; 2 p.m.

Winter Farmers Market

  • What: Locally grown vegetables and fruit; meat, and seafood from local ranchers and fishermen, artisan cheese and bread, herbs and seasonal nursery items, baked goods, prepared foods and artisanal crafts.
  • Where: 4601 Ontario Street, Vancouver
  • When: Every Saturday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vancouver Sun Run

  • What: The third largest 10K road race in the world returns for its 30th year. An incredible 45,183 registrants signed up for the 2014 Vancouver Sun Run event with participants taking in the beautiful Vancouver scenery.
  • Where: The race kicks off on Georgia Street. Check out the route online.
  • When: Sunday, April 19

Baker’s Market

  • What: You’ll find beautifully decorated iced sugar cookies, cupcakes, French macarons, croissants, breads, scones, toffees, chocolates, marshmallows, gluten-free, organic, baked goods and much more!
  • Where: Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre – 7646 Prince Albert St., Vancouver

Hastings Park Farmers Market

  • What: A selection of local produce, nursery items, fish, meat & dairy, artisan prepared foods, baking and treats, the best in local crafts and food trucks.
  • Where: Hastings Park – 2901 E Hastings Street, Vancouver (Between the Forum and Agrodome)
  • When: Every Sunday until April 26; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

4/20 Vancouver at the Art Gallery

  • What: People from all walks of life will gather at the Vancouver Art Gallery to protest against prohibition and celebrate their love for marijuana at the annual 420 celebration.
  • Where: Vancouver Art Gallery – West Georgia Plaza
  • When: Monday, April 20; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    *Technically not on the weekend, but some will turn Monday into a long weekend
