The Greasy Spoon Diner Pop-Up

  • What: The Greasy Spoon Diner Supper Series pop-up dinners, which challenges a Vancouver chefs to take over the kitchen at Save On Meats and serve a dining room full of guests to benefit programs that support the local community.

  • When: Tuesday, May 19; 5:30 & 8 p.m.

Kings Head Comedy

  • What: Every Tuesday, Colin Sharp and James Kennedy present a showcase of the finest comedians In Vancouver. For only $5 you can catch comedians you’ve seen on HBO, Just For Laughs, on tour at comedy clubs across the country.
  • Where: Kings Head Pub – 1618 Yew St., Vancouver
  • When: Tuesday, May 19; 9 to 10:30 p.m

Teen Angst Night

  • What: Somewhere in the back of your closet gathering dust and turning yellow with age is comedic gold. Those old journals, poems, and essays you wrote as a teenager when you thought you could do no wrong, would probably make you cringe at your former feelings if you were to read them today. Now, imagine sharing them in front of an audience. That’s exactly what happens at Teen Angst.

  • When: Tuesday, May 19; 8 to 10 p.m.

Kids in the Hall

  • What: Canadian comedy troupe, Kids in the Hall, are returning for their first North American tour since 2008, bringing their famous sketches and characters, along with new material, to Canada and the U.S.
  • Where: Queen Elizabeth Theatre – 630 Hamilton St., Vancouver
  • When: Wednesday, May 20; 8 p.m.

Yaletown Farmers’ Market

  • What: A very urban market indeed, the pedestrian-friendly streets of Yaletown welcome vendors and farmers Thursday afternoons and evenings for a terrific food and shopping experience, right at the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line station.
  • Where: 1200 Mainland Street, Vancouver
  • When: Thursdays, 2 to 6 p.m.; May 7 to October 29, 2015

Studio Sale – Ole Originals

  • What: A two day studio sale of retro-style tees. Stop by for a brew, shirts, good times and say hello to the friendly crew behind Ole Originals.
  • Where: Ole Originals Studio – 425 W 5th Ave., Vancouver
  • When: Friday, May 22; 4 to 10 p.m.

International Summer Night Market

  • What: Each weekend over 20,000 visitors hit up this massive summertime night market in Richmond and experience the diverse array of booths, food and drink vendors, kids’ play area, and live entertainment.
  • Where: 12631 Vulcan Way (behind Home Depot on Sweden Way), Richmond
  • When: Friday, May 8 to September 27; Fridays and Saturdays 6 to 11 p.m. and Sundays 6 to 10 p.m.

Richmond Night Market

  • What: Drawing crowds from all over Metro Vancouver, the Richmond Night Market is located within easy access of the Canada Line’s Bridgeport Station. Roam the aisles to find games, food, and all sorts of wares for sale. Late nighters take note, this is the only local night market open until midnight (Fridays and Saturdays).
  • Where: 8351 River Rd. (nearby Bridgeport Station)
  • When: May 15 to October 12, 2015; Fridays and Saturdays 7 p.m. to Midnight, Sundays and holiday Mondays 7 to 11 p.m.

Shipyards Night Market

  • What: The Shipyards Night market features food trucks, live music, numerous vendors and a beer garden.
  • Where: Shipbuilders’ Square – 138 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver
  • When: May 1 to September 25; Fridays, 5 to 10 p.m.

Friday Night Movies at the Rio Theatre: Zoolander

  • What: This is your chance to see your old favorites on the big screen. The late night crowd comes for the live hosts and pre-show entertainment as well as the thrill of dressing up in a party like atmosphere. This week is the classic comedy Zoolander.
  • Where: Rio Theatre – 1660 East Broadway, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, May 22; 11:30 p.m.
