The Morning Leader: The Changing Face of Leadership and Partnership

  • What: As the face of leadership is changing, so are the traditional gender roles in the home. Join members of the Women’s Leadership Circle as they discuss how you can create an effective partnership to drive your personal and professional success. This diverse and engaging panel will discuss perspectives of the stay-at-home dad, the C-Suite executive wife, and parenthood as a member of the LGBT community. Following a moderated panel discussion, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a dialogue at their table to share best practices and benefit from the wisdom in the room.

Main Street Station Farmers’ Market

  • What: This market features vendors lined up on the east side of Thornton Park on the sidewalk along Station Street, within ideal reach on foot for bus and SkyTrain users. Take note of new hours for 2015.

Free Rock Concert and Dialogue on Mental Health and Hope

  • What: On the cusp of Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 4 to 10), the Canadian Psychiatric Association has invited recording artist and 2015 Champion of Mental Health, Robb Nash and his band, to bring their music and message to psychiatrists and the Vancouver public. Nash tackles difficult topics such as bullying, addiction, hopelessness, self-harm and suicide. He is an innovative leader in the field of youth mental health and has brought a message of hope and purpose to almost one million young people across the country.

Town Hall on Affordable Housing
