10 things to do in Tri-Cities in February

The Tri-Cities are packed with exciting events this month, from concerts to walking tours and everything in between. To get you started, here are 10 things to do around Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody this month.

BALLET KELOWNA: 150 MOVES

  • What: Ballet Kelowna celebrates Canada’s 150th Anniversary with fresh and exciting classical and contemporary dance and music. Works for 150 Moves by established and emerging Canadian choreographers will delight audiences of all ages including a tribute to Johnny Cash, fresh interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, and a homage to the regions and cultures of Canada.

Crossroads Hospice Coffeehouse presents Love Songs with Bill Marshall

  • What: Love songs for celebrating, for discovering and for moving on. Love Songs with Bill Marshall also features Rob Turner, Vic Austin and Jeff Richter.

Silk Art Gallery presents Reza Doust: Painting the Neighbourhood

  • What: Celebrated Coquitlam artist, Reza Doust, presents a free live painting demonstration at Silk Art Gallery on February 11. Plus an exhibit of his work will be on display for the month of February.

Positivity and Reflection Workshop

The Maple Leaf Singers Syrian Family Fundraiser

  • What: Enjoy a night of music with the Maple Leaf Singers to help raise funds to sponsor a Syrian refugee family. Following a brief introduction to the family, Burnaby’s 50 member show-chorus will give a dynamic performance featuring a variety of songs complemented by choreography.

Heritage Week Maillardville Walking Tour & Tea

  • What: A great way to learn about Coquitlam’s history and past. Sign up for a guided walking tour of historic Maillardville.

Tales of Love: A Journey through Time with Caelestra

  • What: Join Lambroula Pappas and Caelestra for a Valentine’s concert that will take you on a musical journey through the ages of love. From courtly Renaissance love songs and ballads of romance on the high seas, to lively folk tunes from Ireland, the music of Caelestra will warm your heart and linger in your memory.

  • What: Come see the Tri-Cities’ best Improv Company rock their new space at the Terry Fox Studio Theatre! This show will be a mix of your favourite improv games and new formats. There will be a blend of familiar faces and guest stars thrown into each show.

Club Diginista: Girls Build Apps

  • What: BCIT instructors Colleen Penrowley and Rana Al-Sammarraie teach girls aged 10 to 18 how to create a mobile app, using a free program called App Inventor.

Coquitlam Express Save-On-Foods Fan Night Game

  • What: The last regular season Express game of the 2016/17 season is in support of BC Childrens Hosiptal Foundation. Presented by Save-On-Foods (Austin, Ottawa St, Pinetree, and Prairie locations), with pre-game BBQ starting at 6pm,
