International Summer Night Market

  • What: Each weekend over 20,000 visitors hit up this massive summertime night market in Richmond and experience the diverse array of booths, food and drink vendors, kids’ play area, and live entertainment.
  • Where: 12631 Vulcan Way (behind Home Depot on Sweden Way), Richmond
  • When: Friday, May 8 to September 27; Fridays and Saturdays 6 to 11 p.m. and Sundays 6 to 10 p.m.

Lucha Libre – A Night of Mexican Wrestling

  • What: Members of Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling come to the Commodore Ballroom in celebration of Cinco de Mayo with five high-flying, over-the-top matches – Mexican style!
  • Where: Commodore Ballroom – 868 Granville St., Vancouver
  • When: Friday, May 8; 7 p.m.

Open Community BBQ @ Kits Beach

  • What: What happens when you put 100 strangers together at a park BBQ? you have an EPIC party!

Darkness Into Light Walk

  • What: Vancouver launches the first BC Darkness Into Light fundraising event for suicide and self-harm awareness and prevention. Darkness Into Light is a unique, early morning experience which begins in darkness at 4.45am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route across the world while dawn is breaking.

  • When: Saturday, May 9; 4 to 6 a.m.

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

  • What: Amplify Study Club will be hosting Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup on May 9 at English Bay Beach. Cleaning Supplies will be provided by KEEP VANCOUVER SPECTACULAR Program.
  • Where: English Bay Beach – Beach Ave. and Denman St., Vancouver

Jericho Sailing Open House

  • What: Discover all of the low cost programs, facilities and services available for dinghy sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, ocean kayaking and rowing.There will be displays and demonstrations including our annual Season Opening Sail Past, as well as Jericho affiliated Club, Fleet and School information.

Happy High Five Day

  • What: A project aimed at creating happiness and spontaneity in downtown Vancouver, including a march down Robson, Denman and throughout English Bay.
  • Where: Vancouver Art Galley, South Plaza – 750 Hornby St., Vancouver
  • When: Saturday, May 9; 1 to 3 p.m.

Heritage Vancouver 2015 Top 10 Endangered Sites – Bus Tour

  • What: Climb aboard a Transit Museum Society (TRAMS) historic bus for an exclusive guided tour of Heritage Vancouver’s 2015 Top Ten Endangered sites!
