The Botany of Beer

  • What: This two-evening class begins with an interactive talk, including sampling Bomber beer brewed with ingredients harvested from the garden. The second evening will be a tour and tasting at Bomber Brewing among the tanks of fermenting ales.

The Best Fall Pies

  • What: Learn how to make pie dough from scratch, and bake a pecan pie, an apple pie with lattice top and a pear tarte fine with puff pastry. You get to taste everything that is made during the class and take home your own apple pie and any leftover.

Manchester by the Sea

  • What: Being screened as part of the Mongrel Premiere Screening Series, Manchester By The Sea casts Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams in the emotional tale of a reclusive handyman who must care for his teenage nephew after his brother dies.

Hot Docs Talk

  • What: A screening of BC short films and a talk with Hot Docs’ Stephanie McArthur, who will share her tips for building your film festival strategy, successful pitching, and how to keep the momentum going post-pitch. For filmmakers of all levels.
