Spring Break rolls on and Vancouver is filled with fun events for people of all ages. Check out our list of seven things to do today, from a dance party to a Don Cherry tribute.

Eric Church

  • What: Eric Church is one of the biggest country acts in the world, with multiple chart-toppers and Country Music Academy Awards. Currently on the Holdin’ My Own Tour, Church recently made headlines by cancelling over 25,000 secondary market ticket orders on the tour and releasing them back to the public.

Polish Canadian Art Fusion Exhibition

  • What: The Polonez Tri-City Polish Association presents the 4th Annual Polish Canadian Art Fusion Exhibition. The exhibit will showcase artwork created by Polish artists from BC. Each style of painting is unique, and together the artwork is a representation of diversity, individuality and culture.

DDPP feat. DJ Ginger Snap

  • What: If you’re a woman who likes to shake it to pop music like you’re at a tween slumber party, then this is the event for you! Dance Dance Party Party is a fun-focused, female only, free-form dance “class”. Official rules: no booze, no boys, no judgment.
  • Where: Mount Pleasant Community Centre – 1 Kingsway, Vancouver
  • When: March 14 from 8:15 to 9:30 pm

Pi Day 2017 at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

  • What: A celebration of math and Pi, with pie! Pi Day features special presentations, a Pi recitation contest, and math activities from the UBC Math Department and Pacific Institute of Mathematical Sciences Plus grab a number and join the Pi Parade led by a Pied Piper to enjoy a complimentary slice of pie.
  • Where: H.R. MacMillan Space Centre – 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver
  • When: March 14 from 10 am to 5 pm
  • Cost: All activities included in regular admission

Vancouver Giant’s Don Cherry Night

  • What: The Vancouver Giants will suit up for a special cause when they hit the ice against the Victoria Royals at the Langley Events Centre. The team is partnering with hockey icon Don Cherry, his family and the Kidney Foundation of Canada for Don Cherry Night. The Giants will wear Cherry-style jerseys for the game, as part of a national effort to increase both awareness and organ transplant rates by 50% over five years.

Musical Improv Mixer

  • What: Musical improvisers new and experienced come together and celebrate musical theatre in spontaneous form in front of an audience. This show will be hosted by Jennifer Pielak with accompaniment/music direction by Evan Thompson (guitar), Peter Abando (keys) and Byron Abando (drums).
  • Where: Kino Cafe – 3456 Cambie Street, Vancouver

Vancouver Launch for Deep Salt Water by Marianne Apostolides

  • What: BookThug invites you to celebrate the Vancouver launch of Deep Salt Water by Marianne Apostolides. Deep Salt Water is a stirring memoir about loss and abortion, expressed through the layering of imagery from the ocean. With special guest Adrienne Gruber, author of Buoyancy Control. Hosted by Sean Cranbury.
