Green Sock Half and Shamrock’n Race

  • What: The 21.1 km course circles Burnaby Lake, giving you the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, exercise and chances to view birds and animals in this wilderness environment. St. Patrick’s Day themed race so feel free to dress up. Includes medals and draw prizes.

The Vancouver Free Market presents: Seedy Sunday 0.2

  • What: The Free Market returns to celebrate life without money every other Sunday at Grandview Park. This Week they will be putting significant effort into sharing seeds and other forms of spring plant sowables (bulbs, tubers, root stocks etc.). Come share the seeds that you’ve collected during the last year and don’t forget to label and date them if possible.

Tanya Tagaq at Vancouver Opera Festival

  • What: Nunavut-born Tanya Tagaq came to international attention when she appeared on superstar Björk’s 2004 Medulla album and tour. Since then she has created four albums that have all received widespread critical acclaim. The Polaris Prize-winning throat singer combines Inuit tradition with modern electronica, industrial, and metal influences in a riveting, visceral vocal performance that communicates a universal language.

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets Unplugged
