Surrey Fusion Festival

World Music Stage/Fusion Festival

  • What: The ultimate celebration of music, food and culture, right in the heart of Surrey, with musical performances across six different stages, and 40 cultural pavilions offering culinary delights from all over the world. Headliners include Nelly Furtado, Classified, The Zolas and Alx Veliz.
  • When: July 22 and 23

World Naked Bike Ride 2017

  • What: ​Hundreds of cyclists ride naked through the streets of Vancouver each year to celebrate creativity and individuality, and also protest against car culture and oil spills. The World Naked Bike Ride happens rain or shine, so come prepared with waterproof body paint.

Thai Festival in Vancouver

  • What: Thailand is known for its unique culture, including exquisite Thai food and massage, and now you can get into that spirit this weekend at the Thai Festival in Vancouver. Indulge in some Thai food, unwind in a Thai spa, and take in some traditional dance performances and workshops.

The Drum Is Calling Festival

  • What: Each day of the festival zone will carry a unique theme with varying programming and events to provide attendees with a new experience daily. There will be carving and weaving exhibitions, dance, sports tournaments in adjacent streets, workshops, crafts, vendors and food, and live music performances on stages, including headliners Chantal Kreviazuk, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Crystal Shawanda, William Prince, Shane Koyczan, DJ Shub, and George Leach.

Gone Country 2017

  • What: A big outdoor country music concert with all proceeds going to fight cancer. The event is one giant beer garden, so please bring two pieces of ID as the event is 19+. This years line up features Tim Hicks, JoJo Mason, Karen Lee Batten, Me and Mae, Danielle Marie, Dave Hartney, and guest DJ Jaxon Hawks from JRFM.

Uptown Live

  • What: New West’s favourite outdoors festival is coming back this summer, and residents from all over the Lower Mainland can see bands including Coco Jafro, Lion Bear Fox, Echo Nebraska, and others. Multiple stages, food trucks, and art installations make this one a can’t-miss.

African Descent Festival

  • What: People of African Descent and those interested in African heritage and culture come together to celebrate African descendants across the planet. Featuring international artists, food, fashion, spoken work, history and more.

  • Where: Thorton Park – 1166 Main Street, Vancouver

Village Vibe Performing Arts Series

  • What: The 2017 Village Vibe series will feature emerging to professional dancers, musicians, and artists! For those emerging artists, the Village Vibe series provides an opportunity to gain experience in front of a live audience and celebrate their talents.
  • When: Every Saturday in the summer starting July 22

RecycleFest at Trout Lake Park

  • What: Bring your broken or unwanted small appliances and power tools for recycling at Trout Lake and enjoy great activities, free food, games, prizes, and more. Plus enjoy a toonie BBQ lunch to support the Trout Lake Youth Group, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

The Deighton Cup

  • What: Patrons will enjoy a day full of derby action at Hastings Racetrack with 5,000 other well-dressed attendees. Expect full access to Mile’s End Motors Field of Dreams, a picnic area, and a cigar lounge and champagne stage, as well as a Deighton Cup Lunch, which comes complimentary with each ticket. Deighton Cup attendees can also look forward to the 5th annual mixology competition, as well at the event’s Best-Dressed Awards.
