FUSE: 2167

  • What: An eclectic array of unexpected happenings and surprise encounters at the Vancouver Art Gallery. FUSE: 2167 will feature a diverse lineup of performances and live music, as well as artful interventions by local and international artists who will transport guests to another time.

  • Time:  8 pm
  • Tickets: $24 at the door, free for Gallery Members. Cash bar only

P-LO

  • What: After producing Yo Gotti’s “Act Right” & “Bout Me” for Wiz Khalifa , San Francisco Bay Area born rapper/ producer P-Lo is cultivating the sound of the bay area on a national level.

Golden Spike Days Festival

  • What: The Golden Spike Days Festival is one of the oldest and longest running family events in BC. The festival attracts upwards of 40,000 people of all walks of life with live entertainment, special events and activities for all ages. The event commemorates the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway line and its arrival at the original western terminus in Port Moody where the last spike was driven.
  • Where: Rocky Point Park – 2800 Murray St, Port Moody
  • When: June 30 to July 3
  • Cost: Entrance by donation, all proceeds go to the Golden Spike Days Society.

North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market

  • What: Gathering some of Vancouver’s best food vendors, this free event will feature a full farmers and artisan marketplace along with local food trucks and live entertainment weekly. Shipyard Plaza in North Vancouver will be transformed into a vibrant night market every Friday night.
  • When: Every Friday until September 29
  • Time: 5 to 10 pm
  • Location: Shipbuilders’ Square – 138 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver
  • Admission: Free

Asteroid Day

  • What: Visit the Space Centre to take part in this global celebration. The Pacific Museum of Earth will be in the house to show you asteroids, meteorites, and explain how space rocks differ from rocks found on Earth. Also, enjoy a special screening of the Little Prince.

  • Time: 10 am to 5 pm
  • Where: H.R. MacMillan Space Centre – 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver

Buster Williams (Coastal Jazz)

  • What: One of jazz’s most versatile and esteemed bassists, Grammy Award-winning Buster Williams brings his highly refined technique and deep tone to collaborations with a vast range of vocal, post-bop, and progressive jazz artists. Williams co-founded the great jazz combos Timeless All-Stars and Sphere, has worked with Betty Carter and Nancy Wilson, and is revered for his exploratory playing in Herbie Hancock’s legendary Mwandishi Sextet.

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox

  • What: Postmodern Jukebox is the brainchild of pianist Scott Bradlee, who got his start by shooting videos with college friends in a tiny apartment in Queens. In 2012, Bradlee put together a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to finish an album of Motown-inspired Nickelback covers and earned his first-ever slot at a major arts festival: BC’s own Squamish Valley Music Festival.
