With summer officially under way, there is no shortage of awesome things going on around Vancouver. Check out five things happening today in this fair city.

Madskillz Vancouver Flow Juggle and Spin Festival

  • What: Entering it’s sixth year, Madskillz Vancouver is a festival celebrating the arts of juggle, flow, and spin. The four day event features some of the most innovative performers in the field, as well as evening Renegade shows and Glow Jams, and a diverse daytime workshop schedule for beginners to advanced artists.
  • Where: Hastings Park, 2901 East Hastings Street 
  • When: July 25 to July 28

Yaletown Farmers Market

  • What: The ever-popular Yaletown Farmers is happening every Thursday until October 29, and features locally grown produce, hand made goods, and other awesome shopping opportunities, all in the bustling heart of Yaletown.
  • Where: Yaletown-Roundhouse Station, 1200 Mainland Street
  • When: 2 to 6 p.m.

The Wicks w/ Spencer Winston & Echo Nebraska

  • What: Hailing from equal parts Victoria and Montreal, folk rock group The Wicks come to The Media Club for a night of mandolins and electric guitars. Along with Spencer Winston and Echo Nebraska, it’ll be a great opportunity to get a peak at the lesser known acts keeping the Canadian music scene thriving. Advance tickets are just $8 and are available here.

  • When: Doors at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m.

Jokes Please! Summer Fling Edition

  • What: Jokes Please! is a weekly comedy show put on by comedians Ross Dauk, Andy Kalstrom, and Ivan Decker. For just $5 you can see some of the best and brightest the Vancouver comedy scene has to offer, and they’ve always got special guests dropping in.
  • Where: Little Mountain Gallery, 195 26th Ave E
  • When: Doors at 8:30 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m.

Back It Up Thursdays at Celebrities

  • What: Get a chance to relive the Golden Age of boy bands, jelly sandals, and that weird hairstyle where you kind of crimped every strand so it looks like instant Ramen at Back It Up Thursdays. Throw on a tank top and JNCO Jeans, and come dance like it’s 1999. $5 cover.
  • Where: Celebrities Nightclub, 1022 Davie Street
  • When: 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
