Opera On A Sunday Afternoon

  • What: Opera on a Sunday Afternoon celebrates the operatic talent of emerging professional and semi-professional opera singers in British Columbia. Presented by Burnaby Lyric Opera.

Thanksgiving Toonie Skate

  • What: Family-friendly activities and ice skating on Thanksgiving Monday.

  • Price: $2 Skates and helmet included in admission fee.

Weedbusters

  • What: Help the Burnaby Lake Park Association remove invasive plants that threaten native species.
  • When: October 15
  • Time: 1 to 4 pm
  • Where: Burnaby Lake Regional Park – Meet at Avalon Avenue parking lot at east end of lake

Art on the Spot: Famous Artist

  • What: An Emily Carr look-a-like leads participants of all ages in an art project inspired by artwork of the artist.

  • What: Amber Funk Barton and her contemporary dance company – the response. – return to the Shadbolt for the third installment of their WorkSpace series. Inspired by memories, past relationships and the relativity of time, WorkSpace III will endeavor to embody these ideas to a curated playlist of pop music.

Bonsor’s Big Boo!

  • What: Friendly frightening family fun at Bonsor. Featuring an imagination playground, crafts and games, cookies for kids, a haunted house, and more.

Haunted Village

  • What: Explore the Village in the dark of night with your costumes and dancing shoes. Everyone is invited to join the beautiful Madam Monarch for the Hill Street Bash.

Curious by Nature: Super Salmon

  • What: ​Want to know more about nature in regional parks? Drop by the pop-up displays to chat with a park interpreter.  Witness the journey of salmon returning to their home to spawn.

Halloween on the Heights

  • What: Families are invited to dress up and go trick or treating down Hastings Street. Kids and their adults will be able to get yummy treats from neighbourhood stores and ride the Halloween Trains in the Dark.
  • When: Tuesday, October 31, 2017
    • Trick or Treating from 3:30 to 5:30 pm
    • Halloween Trains in the Dark from 6 to 9 pm
  • Where: 
    • Trick or Treating is along Hastings Street in Burnaby
    • Halloween Trains in the Dark at Burnaby Central Railway at Confederation Park – 120 North Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby
  • Tickets: All events are free, except the Halloween Trains in the Dark, which costs $3.50 and includes free hot chocolate and cookies. Costumes strongly encouraged.
