Life in Residential Care: Presented by the Alzheimer Society of BC

  • What: ​This workshop will focus on the process of adjustment after a person with dementia has moved into a residential care facility. Learn about the changes to your role as a caregiver that this transition can bring, and how to enhance your visits.  The session will also review strategies for working effectively with a care team and offers tips for acting as an advocate within a residential care setting.

SPIN

  • What: Theatrical innovator Evalyn Parry takes her audience on a unique theatrical and musical journey in SPIN, her tribute to the bicycle as muse, musical instrument and agent for social change. Spinning a web of stories that travel from 19th century women’s emancipation to 21st Century consumer culture, SPIN is inspired by the incredible true tale of Annie Londonderry – the first woman to ride around the world on a bicycle in 1895.

HR NOW 2017

  • What: This conference features four workshops that will highlight latest changes in the growing industry from exploring international recruitment to its interaction with other disciplines in the workplace. HR NOW 2017 will also feature a keynote speaker to kickstart the day as well an industry panel and networking sessions.

In Circulation

  • What: In Circulation is a mixed program of Company 605’s current repertoire, consisting of excerpts from two recent full-length works, Albatross and Vital Few, as well as the premiere of a brand new short piece. Each of these distinct works circle around the same present interests of 605’s artists: individuals united, a shared experience held between separate bodies, moving as one.

Deer Lake Craft Festival

  • What: ​The 46th annual event will feature more than 60 artisans, all of whom have been juried into the show and selected for their high-quality handcrafted creations. Glass blowers, sculptors, potters, fashion and jewellery designers, woodworkers and more will be among those assembled for the show. Visitors will also be able to choose from a wide selection of foodstuffs – chocolate, spices, Christmas cakes, cookies, jams and jellies, chutneys and designer honey, to name a few.
