Theatre Preview: Les Liasons Dangereuses is the perfect pre-Valentine's date night
Both titillating and disconcerting, Les Liasons Dangereuses, presented by Capilano University’s theatre company, Exit 22, is sure to shock and excite any audience that dare experience this sensual production.
Les Liasons Dangereues has been shocking people since 1782 with its temptation, raw sexuality and revenge. It’s the story of how two ex-lovers and lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont seduce their ignorant victims for their own vengeful use and manipulation, using sex as their weapon of choice.
The true drama in this seductive tale comes when the two main characters betray their promise to never to fall in love. When they break their only rule, the results might just even be fatal, but you’ll just to have to see the show to find out their fates.
Students from Capilano University’s Acting for the Stage and Screen Program and Musical Theatre program, take on this sexually-charged story with malice and cruelty around every corner. Directed by Gillian Barber, a local actor and instructor at Capilano University, this stage adaptation will prove that these emerging actors have the chops to make it big once they graduate.
A seductive and enthralling piece of theatre, Les Liasons Dangereuses is the perfect pre-Valentine’s day date idea. With a promise to “disconcert and delight any audience”, this show shouldn’t be missed.
