The Temptations swing into The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver this fall

It could be said that the 1960’s was, and still remains, the most influential decade in music history—not only because of the evolution of rock and roll, but also for the explosion of soul.

Soul music in the 1960’s represented a cultural shift in North America; leading this musical revolution were artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, and five young men that became known as The Temptations.

The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver will host this legendary R&B group Friday, October 3, 2014, as founding member Otis Williams along with Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Joe Herndon and Bruce Williamson bring the group’s timeless classics to the stage.

Tickets$44.50, $49.50 & $59.50 (plus service charges)

The Temptations developed a sound that set them apart from the rock and roll tide that was flooding the nation in the 60s and 70s, and with hits like “My Girl,” “Ain’t too Proud to Beg,”“Get Ready,” “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep,” “I Wish It Would Rain,” “I Can’t Get Next to You,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone” to name a few. Most if not everybody’s personal soundtrack contains at least one song from The Temptations catalogue.

In 1964, the group first captured a generation’s attention when they topped the charts with “The way you do the things you do” and now, 50 years later, they are still winning over fans with their harmonies.
