The Royal Pumpkin Ball at the Performance Works on Granville Island

Superheroes, Princesses, Kings, and little monsters alike are all invited to the second annual Royal Pumpkin Ball for magic, music, treats and more.

“Every year we aim to provide a safe alternative to trick-or-treating for the little guys”, says Daniela Gismondi, co-owner of Modern Mint Event Coordinators Inc. “It’s a place in which they can dress up and get silly while enjoying interactive entertainment with the band.”

Last year, Modern Mint Event’s coordinators presented an enchanted costumed ball designed to give young children, ages 8 years and younger a safe outlet to outdoor events, away from the inclement weather, and with an itinerary full of fun. This year, they welcome back the families to enjoy the ever-so-popular children’s entertainers, Marnie and the Music with Marnie Band as well as other lovable characters. “It’s important for young families to have the options for their little ones during special holidays”, says Daniela.

Most importantly, The Royal Pumpkin Ball provides the opportunity to teach the children to participate in giving back to the community. Just as last year, the ball will donate partial proceeds to the Canadian Red Cross Society and encourage participants to do so as well. “The efforts of the Red Cross are genuine and necessary and we would like to make it a fun and educational occasion for the kids to do so,” says Sahar Sarband co-owner of Modern Mint Events.

The event has been moved to Granville Island’s Performance Works Theatre to be more central for Vancouver residents. Last year’s event was bustling at the Red Robinson Show Theatre and this year it’s expected to sell out again.

The ball will be held on Sunday October 28th at 11am. Tickets are $20 and available through Information can be found by following The Royal Pumpkin Ball on Facebook or at
