The Odd Squad Productions Society to Celebrate 15th Anniversary in Style

The Odd Squad Productions Society will be celebrating their 15th anniversary this year with a prestigious Gala Fundraiser at the Vancouver Convention Centre, scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 7th, 2012.

For those of you who may not know of The Odd Squad Productions Society (OSP), it is an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit charitable organization based out of Vancouver. It is premised on a vision of encouraging youth to choose safe and positive life paths by being drug-free and gang-free. They do this through community policing, crime prevention, and public education programs such as educational presentations, peer-to-peer mentoring workshops, and award-winning documentary films.  The work that the OSP does to be proactive and protect youth is very necessary, evident in disturbing statistics such as “60 per cent of illicit drug users are between 15 to 24 years old”. The OSP was founded in 1997 by seven Vancouver Police Department officers.

Their summer celebration will be presented by CIBC Wood Gundy At Bental, and at the time of press supported by more than 25 corporate sponsors. The evening will consist of a formal gourmet dinner, a Live Auction, a Silent Auction, and apparently some “magical” surprises that are still to be revealed.

In 2011, over 1,000 guests attended the annual gala, contributing to OSP’s most lucrative fundraising effort ever. On top of that, over fifty corporate sponsors, sport celebrities such as Chris Le Bihan (2010 Olympic Bronze Medallist), and Sonja Gaudet (2010 Paralympic Gold Medallist), and Canadian singer Holly Cole took part in the event.

The OSP is inviting the public to join them as a guest, a sponsor, an auction item donor, or a volunteer. For more information on this upcoming event, or to purchase tickets, please contact [email protected] or Gerry Zipursky at 604-408-9945.
