The Mark, Yaletown Set to Soar to New Heights

Dec 19 2017, 11:58 am

Soon we will find out if the development named “The Mark” will become the tallest building in Yaletown as city council is set to vote on  the additional height requested by the developer. It is already approved for 33 floors, but the developer wants to increase the height to 41 floors for a total of 140 metres. This would make it Vancouver’s 5th tallest building tied with the new Fairmont Pacific Rim (building next to Shaw Tower). The project will be LEED gold and will feature a green roof.  Regardless of the features I still hate the name.

Judging by the line-ups this weekend, this building will surely sell out if it hasn’t already. This latest boom is quite scary for people not in the market as it starts off at a very high base unlike the one that started around 2003. How long before this is unsustainable?

Project location: 1372 Seymour Street (will be next to one of the 14 new social housing sites in the city)

Height: 140m (proposed) 41 Floors
Developer: Onni
