Vegetarian Eats in Vancouver: The Foundation

Dec 19 2017, 4:01 pm

Mount Pleasant is home to many great vegetarian and vegan restaurants, and among all The Foundation is one that should not be missed. This casual vegetarian restaurant serves delicious comfort food until late night and is a favourite spot of the hipster crowd. From their scrumptious finger foods to their pastas and burgers, The Foundation offers a variety of unexpected vegetarian foods that keeps diners coming back. In fact, many claim that they can’t even tell that the food here has no meat – it’s just that good.

The Utopian Nachos ($12-18) are the signature dish here. These nachos come in a small or a large size, but mind you a small can already feed a party of four. There are different flavours of nachos offered everyday and there’s even a daily special, but their original flavour with black beans and cheese is one that you certainly can’t go wrong with. To make things better, you can add guac too!

Another favourite finger food dish is the Insurgent Hummus ($7). It’s made with maverick chick peas and is served with flat bread and nachos – yum!

Other than finger food, the pastas here are also very much worth trying. They come in unusual flavours that you don’t normally come across at just any restaurant. This Spicy Peanut Pasta ($12) for instance is an odd combination of twisted pasta, peanut sauce, and tofu, but yet together it’s quite a pleasant surprise for your taste buds.
